WiMAX and Wireless NetworksIntroduction | How WiMAX Works | Poised for Success | Getting Started Getting Started with WiMAX Here's what would happen if you enter an agreement with the Chicago Radio Engineers.
You and your customers would then buy a WiMAX enabled computer or upgrade old computers to add WiMAX capability. You would receive a special encryption code that would give you access to the hub. The WiMAX Network would beam data from the Internet to your computer (at speeds higher than today's DSL and Cable modems). The cost for this service will be significantly lower than current high-speed Internet-subscription fees from the phone or cable company because we do not have to install wiring. If you have a business or home network, your set-up wouldn't change noticeably. The WiMAX Hub would send data to a WiMAX enabled router, which would then send the data to the different computers on your network. You could even combine WiFi with WiMAX by having the router send the data to the computers via WiFi.
